Church repairs and Maintenace progress is in full swing. We contracted with subcontractors to complete
the following:
Install an irrigation system at the parsonage so that whoever goes in there will not have to
worry about watering the lawn, but just mowing it.
Install a fence on along Moreland, at the edge of the sidewalk, so we can prevent people from sleeping on our roof and in front of the doorways on the north side.
Repair the windows and wood casements at the front of the church. There are seven total windows.
Replace two wood doors with hollow metal doors, so they do not warp or shrink anymore. These two doors are located at the handicap lift and the door exiting the bell loft.
Update on the Roof replacement: The insurance company only offered $6,000 which we felt was not acceptable. We have retained the services of a lawyer, who works for the roofing company, to pursue additional compensation. The roofing company has agreed to cover the attorney fees at this time. More information will follow as the church is updated on the process.
Update on Garage: True North is still proceeding with the garage but had a re-zoning revision. We are expecting to hear more from them and will keep everyone in the loop when we know more.
Long Range: We are getting budget numbers for stucco repair of the church and to re-paint once the repairs are complete. We would like to include this in our Mission Plan for next year, hopefully.
Also, we are getting bids to replace a couple small air conditioning units in the basement and to repair a unit in the kitchen pantry. Corroded galvanized piping in the basement must be replaced as well.
A workday is planned at the Grace on October 30, 8:00 am until 2:00 pm to clean up the parsonage, garage, and storage shed. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome!
